Various memories from cards and letters

Karen and I received many lovely cards and letters. Some of the memories within them include:

Meeting friends and having children: "Your mum and I had lovely times together. She was funny, smart and very organised. Our days with you as small children were spent deciding what we should do, where we were going and how and when we were going to feed you!" "We met at Mere Green baby clinic; many years later, Mary and Graham invited us to join them in a Rolls Royce car parade near Lady Lever Art Gallery."

Work: "we worked together at the doctor's surgery - she was a very kind, caring and lovely lady."

Neighbours: "She and Graham became good friends amongst the clutch of residents at top end of Moorland Park, where we built up a little community that 'looked out' for one another." "Mary and Graham had been our neighbours for 40 years and we shall miss them dreadfully." "We will miss Mary - she made us feel so welcome when we moved in 13 years ago."

Hobbies, activities and friends: "her sugar icing cabinet display was really remarkable" "WI and table tennis will not be the same without her attention to detail on our Fund Raisers - she will be greatly missed by all." "We went to Sunday afternoon concerts together at St George's Hall in Liverpool." "We had wonderful themed coffee mornings for our table tennis teams." "we became friends at Table Tennis group and at various Bowling Club venues. She was great company and will be sorely missed." "When we couldn't meet because of COVID we spoke by phone about gardening, VE day and the stall she set out, VJ day and her childhood diaries she had found (written in pencil)."

Recent holidays: "when we all met up in Jersey, she was so happy to be away and among her RR friends." "Many of us will have fond memories of events and holidays we have shared with Mary, especially those who came to Madeira."
